What is Universal Preventive Wellness?

  • Simply put, UPW is anything that proactively strengthens health in order to lower the chance of disease and injury later in life. Think of our subsidies like health insurance for a Gym Membership; we want you to feel good and prevent chronic illness by doing something you enjoy. So, we eliminate cost as a barrier to entry (gym memberships are pricey these days)!

Who can apply?

  • Anyone can apply! Your initial subsidy is based purely on income and life context. After the trial period of 1 month, your subsidy percentage is subject to change depending on commitment and frequency.

  • Example: You’re granted an initial 40% subsidy to a Boxing Gym. After your trial month, we see you have attended 20 classes in 30 days. We’ll definitely be increasing your subsidy by a few percentage points. Frequency Reporting occurs every six months, we encourage you to save money with healthy lifestyle choices.

What does the application process look like?

  • Our application asks for the following information

    • Personal Information (Legal name, date of birth, address, etc)

    • Wellness Program Selection

    • Income Verification

    • Life Context & Wellness Goals

What types of wellness can I choose from?

  • We subsidize wellness programs and immersive experiences. We don’t subsidize anything material:

    • Gym Memberships (Martial Arts, Box Gyms, etc)

    • Yoga, Pilates, HIIT Studios, etc

    • Meditation Programs/Retreats

    • Youth Sports Leagues

    • Co-ed Sports Leagues

    • You choose the gym! We will reach out on your behalf to the provider and set up the subsidy.

How do gyms benefit from YNI?

  • YNI’s secondary goal is to promote the growth of the wellness sphere. We want to fill gyms with bodies. We want to improve sales by removing the one rejection everyone in the industry has heard, “I can’t justify the price right now”.

  • Our participants pay their portion up front each month. We pay one consolidated invoice at the end of the month for the remainder of all of our participants. That’s guaranteed.

Do you subsidize personal-use saunas?

  • Nope! We want to bring business to our partners. YNI will not help our participants pay for anything material: home gyms, ice baths, personal saunas, boxing gloves, Gis, etc. You get the gear, we’ll pay for the service.
